Amazon is phasing out Fire Tablets in favor of Alexa Tablets
Amazon is officially phasing out its long-running Fire Tablet brand. According to consumer electronics head Panos Panay, the older devices simply failed to give customers what they were asking for. In place of the Fire lineup, Amazon is introducing new Alexa Tablets. These devices will run standard Android instead of the restrictive custom Fire OS.
