Chocolate Dipped Fruit
These delightful chocolate-dipped fruits are a fun, easy, and sweet treat that kids and adults alike will love to make and eat.
Ingredients
- •1 lb fresh strawberries, rinsed and thoroughly dried
- •2 large bananas, peeled and cut into thick slices
- •2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (340g)
- •2 tablespoons coconut oil
- •1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles or finely chopped nuts for decorating
Instructions
- 1
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- 2
Ensure all washed fruit is completely dry to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
- 3
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil.
- 4
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- 5
Hold each piece of fruit by its stem or top and dip it into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off gently.
- 6
If desired, immediately roll the dipped fruit in sprinkles or chopped nuts while the chocolate is still wet.
- 7
Place the decorated fruit onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- 8
Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill for about 30 minutes until the chocolate shell is completely set and hardened.
💡 Chef tips
- Make sure no water touches the melting chocolate, as even a single drop can cause it to clump up.
- You can easily substitute dark or white chocolate chips depending on your flavor preference.
- Store the dipped fruit in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for the best texture.
✅ How it should turn out
The finished treats have a glossy, snappy chocolate shell encasing juicy, fresh fruit with a sweet and satisfying crunch.
