British Coming-of-Age Comedy 'The State of Us' Secures U.K. Deal
Vertigo Releasing has acquired the U.K. theatrical rights for the British coming-of-age comedy 'The State of Us'. Marking the feature directorial debut of Jake Harvey and Ollie Gardner, the film centers on a nineteen-year-old who breaks his terminally ill best friend out of hospice care for one final, chaotic night of adventure. Starring Samuel Bottomley and Callum Scott Howells, the movie explores deep themes of friendship, grief, and resilience against the clock. Following its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and a screening at the Rome Film Festival, the picture is scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release in the United Kingdom.
