Deep Learning Forecasts Orbital Decay and Reentry of Space Debris
Advanced artificial intelligence models are now being applied to calculate atmospheric drag, significantly improving our ability to predict when and where abandoned spacecraft and discarded rocket boosters will plunge back into our atmosphere. Historically, tracking the final moments of decades-old orbiting hardware has proved extremely challenging due to unpredictable atmospheric shifts. Modern neural networks process vast historical data streams to yield much higher precision during critical orbital decay phases.
