Israeli Oscar Contender Dropped from Swiss Film Festival Amid Boycotts
A Geneva-based queer film festival, Everybody’s Perfect, has removed the Israeli film 'Tell Me Everything' from its program. The decision followed intense pressure and boycott threats from local activist groups, including a Palestinian film festival, who demanded the removal of the Israeli entry. Festival organizers expressed regret over the cancellation, stating that the move was intended to avoid controversy and protect the event's atmosphere. The film's producers criticized the decision, arguing that art should not be held responsible for government policies and that the festival failed to uphold the spirit of open dialogue.
