Nanoscale Tech Tracks Proteins to Aid Neurodegenerative Drug Discovery
Researchers at The University of Queensland have engineered an innovative nanoscale platform designed to monitor protein activity within living neurons. This technological breakthrough allows scientists to observe real-time molecular dynamics at a single-molecule level. The newly commercialized system, known as NASTIC, has been transitioned to a dedicated startup to accelerate early-stage pharmaceutical research. By providing unprecedented spatial and temporal insights into cellular processes, the tool aims to fast-track treatments for devastating conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
