Sophia Bush Recalls Rollercoaster Audition Journey for One Tree Hill
In an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, actress Sophia Bush opens up about the stressful and contradictory casting process she experienced while trying to land her iconic role as Brooke Davis on the hit drama series One Tree Hill. Bush details how network executives initially dismissed her after her first audition, claiming she lacked the necessary appeal, only to flip their criticism during her second try by declaring her look excessively mature. Navigating the confusing expectations of early 2000s Hollywood television standards left the young performer searching for a delicate equilibrium. With the assistance of a casting department member, she ultimately curated a balanced outfit that satisfied the studio's rigid image requirements, securing the part that would define a major chapter of her acting career.
