Escape rooms give health care students a safe place to get things wrong
Occupational therapy students recently engaged in an innovative learning exercise using an escape room format. When the buzzer sounded, three students realized their planned treatment path for a simulated patient was incorrect. This immersive approach allows future medical professionals to experience high-pressure decision-making without real-world consequences. By reframing failure as a vital learning tool, educators hope to better prepare graduates for complex clinical environments.
