Security researchers at Citizen Lab have revealed that government spyware makers are exploiting global advertising networks. They are using malicious online ads to deliver zero-click spyware directly to targeted devices. The investigation highlights an Israeli firm named Discover-Tech, which allegedly acts as a bridge for surveillance vendors. This marks the first concrete confirmation of government-backed spyware being weaponized through ad networks.
