A winning entry in Nikon's prestigious Small World in Motion contest has been disqualified. Organizers determined that the video violated rules regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence. The submission, created by Dr. Ning Xu, originally claimed to depict tiny hair-like cilia structures moving within a child's airway. However, the use of AI tools led to its removal following a review.
