Russian Search Giant Yandex Hit by Ukrainian Drone Strikes
Russian technology giant Yandex, frequently referred to as Russia's Google, has announced it is struggling to maintain its digital services following coordinated Ukrainian drone strikes on two of its five major data centres. The attacks, which targeted facilities in the Ryazan and Kaluga regions, have severely damaged critical infrastructure, leading to suspended operations and disruptions in AI chatbot functions and smart home devices. Ukrainian leadership stated the strikes were a direct response to recent Russian attacks on Ukrainian data infrastructure.
