India’s JioHotstar takes partnership route for Middle East expansion
JioHotstar, the massive Indian streaming platform backed by Reliance Industries, is entering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market through a strategic partnership with Starzplay. Unlike its standalone launches in the U.K., Canada, and Singapore, the service will operate as a dedicated section within the existing Starzplay ecosystem. This move targets the significant South Asian diaspora in the region by offering a vast library of Indian films, TV shows, and original content. The collaboration aims to leverage Starzplay’s established subscriber base while providing bundled pricing options that include sports coverage.
