Writer Yiyun Li Turns to Music in New Novel After Losing Both Sons
Renowned author Yiyun Li, who won a Pulitzer Prize for her memoir about the tragic suicides of her two sons, has released a new novel titled 'Music Against the Night'. The book explores the lives of two musical prodigies from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Facing an unimaginable loss, Li explains that conventional words often fall short when describing profound sorrow. By turning to the subject of music, which exists outside of traditional language, she explores complex human experiences and her own ongoing journey through the abyss of grief.
