Turkey police raid opposition TV station, halting live broadcasts
Turkish police have raided the headquarters of the pro-opposition Halk TV in Istanbul, abruptly halting its live broadcasts and locking employees out of the building. Financial crimes units conducted searches while authorities issued 17 arrest warrants linked to the channel's owner. Halk TV is widely recognized for its alignment with the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and frequently criticizes President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's ruling AK party. This crackdown comes amid ongoing political tensions and legal actions targeting opposition figures in Turkey.
