Reflection Debuts Beam AI Model to Rival Chinese Competitors
Reflection AI has unveiled Beam, its first open-weight frontier AI model, designed to compete directly with leading Chinese models on advanced reasoning benchmarks. The Brooklyn-based startup claims the text-only model achieves this performance at a fraction of the inference compute cost. Beam features 501 billion total parameters with 23 billion active parameters and a one-million token context window. Backed by major investors like Nvidia and Sequoia Capital, Reflection aims to position Beam as an efficient workhorse for enterprises and developers.
