Buildings swept away as flash floods hit central Nepal
A sudden flash flood along the Budhi Gandaki River in central Nepal has destroyed numerous buildings, bridges, and a hydropower project camp. The disaster follows an upstream landslide in the Gorkha district, leaving several people missing while rescue operations continue. The military successfully rescued 49 individuals from the affected zones, though authorities confirm that five people remain unaccounted for. This fresh calamity strikes only two months after catastrophic floods and landslides devastated the nation, compounding its ongoing recovery challenges.
