Danu Robotics’ fight to build a better recycling robot
For six years, Danu Robotics founder Amy Ma has been working on a better way to sort recyclable waste using advanced automation. Inspired by office waste inefficiencies, Ma developed the H.E.R.O. robot to make recycling cheaper and faster. Based in Edinburgh, the startup uses AI-driven software and a unique pincer claw design to compete in the multi-billion-dollar recycling market. With recent funding and strong customer interest, Danu aims to transform waste sorting across facilities and everyday public spaces.
