Lauren Price rules out Claressa Shields but hints at big 2027 fight
Unified welterweight champion Lauren Price will defend her titles against Michaela Kotaskova in Cardiff on November 20. While looking ahead to an exciting bout in early 2027, the Olympic gold medallist has officially ruled out an immediate fight against Claressa Shields. Negotiations for a matchup with Shields stalled over financial terms, location disputes, and a lack of a rematch clause. Price insists she will not rush into a disadvantageous deal, focusing instead on her upcoming challenge and future stadium ambitions.
