With 'Obsession,' Are Golden Globes Comedies Facing Category Fraud?
The entertainment industry is facing renewed debate over "category fraud," a practice where studios submit films and performances into inappropriate genres to boost their winning chances. Strategists often manipulate awards submissions to secure nominations in less competitive fields, drawing criticism from industry observers. As more serious films flood comedy categories, questions arise regarding whether award bodies like the Golden Globes will enforce stricter rules.
