Reform UK plans to suspend the UK asylum system if elected

Reform UK has announced radical proposals to completely suspend the United Kingdom's asylum system for an entire parliamentary term if it enters government. Under the plan, all new asylum applications would be rejected, existing claims voided, and outstanding appeals dismantled. The party also intends to withdraw the UK from the European Convention on Human Rights, repeal the Human Rights Act 1998, and disapply the 1951 Refugee Convention. Major political rivals from Labour, the Conservative Party, and the Liberal Democrats have all strongly condemned the proposed measures.
