Tory Shadow Chancellor Vows Tax Cuts in Every Budget
Shadow Chancellor Andrew Griffith announced at the Conservative Party conference that a future Tory government would aim to cut at least one tax in every budget. Speaking in Birmingham, Griffith emphasized lower and fairer taxes as his main goal. Key proposals include scrapping the High Value Council Tax Surcharge, often called the mansion tax, and abandoning the Extended Packaging Responsibility scheme. Griffith also confirmed the party's commitment to maintaining the state pension triple lock.
