AI Grief-Bot Film ‘Talk to Me When You Are Dead’ Heads to Busan
Singaporean director Alvin Lee is presenting his debut feature, "Talk to Me When You Are Dead," at the Asian Project Market during the Busan International Film Festival. Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Anthony Chen and Gina Tan, the black dramedy explores the ethical boundaries and emotional complexities of digital afterlives through the lens of a programmer who commercializes grief-bots. The narrative follows Yong Yi, a grieving widower who creates an AI replica of his late wife and is subsequently nudged into launching a startup. Hired to build a digital twin for a terminally ill architect, Yong Yi faces a moral dilemma that forces him to confront his own unresolved loss.
