Ingredients
- •4 cups premium vanilla ice cream (about 600g), slightly softened
- •1 cup whole milk (240ml)
- •1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- •Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- •4 maraschino cherries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Let the vanilla ice cream sit at room temperature for 3 to 5 minutes so it softens slightly for smoother blending.
- 2
Pour the whole milk and pure vanilla extract into the base of a high-speed blender.
- 3
Add the softened vanilla ice cream scoops to the blender jar on top of the liquid.
- 4
Blend on medium-high speed for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth, thick, and fully combined.
- 5
Pour immediately into four chilled glasses and top with whipped cream and a cherry, if desired.
💡 Chef tips
- Chill your glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before serving to keep the milkshakes cold and thick longer.
- Adjust thickness easily: use less milk for a spoonable shake or add 2 to 4 extra tablespoons of milk for a thinner, sip-friendly consistency.
- To make a pareve (dairy-free) version, substitute dairy ice cream with plant-based vanilla ice cream and use oat milk or almond milk.
✅ How it should turn out
The milkshake should be thick, smooth, and easily drinkable through a straw, boasting a rich vanilla aroma and a sweet, velvety taste.
