Mini Sliders
These bite-sized, juicy beef sliders are the perfect crowd-pleasing treat for kids and adults alike.
Ingredients
- •1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- •1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- •1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- •1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- •8 mini slider buns
- •2 tablespoons olive oil
- •4 slices pareve cheddar-style cheese (optional)
- •1/4 cup ketchup
- •1/4 cup mayonnaise (egg-based, dairy-free)
- •1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- •1 small tomato, thinly sliced
Instructions
- 1
In a medium bowl, gently combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until just incorporated; do not overwork the meat.
- 2
Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small patties slightly larger than the diameter of your slider buns.
- 3
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- 4
Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- 5
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the pan briefly to melt.
- 6
While the meat cooks, lightly toast the slider buns in a separate pan or oven until golden brown.
- 7
Spread a small amount of ketchup and mayonnaise on each bun.
- 8
Assemble the sliders by placing a patty on each bottom bun, followed by a slice of tomato and a pinch of shredded lettuce, then top with the bun lid.
💡 Chef tips
- To make these ahead, shape the patties and store them in the refrigerator with parchment paper between them for up to 24 hours before cooking.
- For a deeper flavor, add a finely minced shallot to the beef mixture before shaping.
- If you want to keep the buns from getting soggy, toast them well and add the lettuce as a barrier between the hot patty and the top bun.
✅ How it should turn out
The finished sliders should have a perfectly browned, savory crust on the outside, a juicy center, and a delightful contrast between the toasted bun and fresh, crisp vegetables.
