Liquid Metal Dealloying Creates Nanoporous Silicon Carbide

Silicon carbide is a high-performance ceramic valued for its remarkable heat resistance and chemical stability. These properties make it ideal for demanding applications in electronics, catalysis, and energy systems. However, traditional manufacturing requires extreme conditions, making it difficult to form controlled nanometer-scale porous structures. Recent advances show that liquid metal dealloying can overcome these hurdles at a much lower temperature of 800 degrees Celsius.
