Court Rules Land Encroachment Impacts Entire Plot, Orders Fine

A court in Israel has ordered four property owners to pay compensation to the Israel Land Authority after ruling that their encroachment onto public land effectively blocked the utilization of an entire 488-square-meter plot. The defendants argued that their intrusion was minimal, measuring only a few centimeters, but the judge emphasized that the unauthorized structures prevented any viable use or marketing of the land. The legal battle began years prior when authorities demanded the removal of concrete slabs, fences, and various additions that spilled over boundaries. Although the defendants claimed they had largely resolved the issue and that remaining deviations were negligible, inspection reports and photographic evidence proved that the ongoing occupation continued to hinder state management and development of the area.
