Historic pink diamond returns to public view after century
A legendary nine-carat pink diamond, which survived the French Revolution, is being exhibited in France for the first time in nearly a century. The precious gem was famously stolen during a 1926 burglary at the Château de Chantilly and recovered after being stashed inside an apple. The exhibition at the Condé Museum features historical archives and recent scientific analyses that highlight the unique properties of the jewel. Although security concerns surround cultural institutions following recent high-profile heists, organizers are confident in displaying the priceless artifact.
