Swimmer secures UK brain cancer review after emotional TV appeal
Scottish competitive swimmer Archie Goodburn, diagnosed with inoperable brain tumours, successfully lobbied the UK government for better healthcare measures. Following a televised plea, he met with Prime Minister Andy Burnham at Downing Street. In response to Goodburn's advocacy, the administration announced a comprehensive national review, appointed a clinical lead, and pledged to accelerate the availability of innovative therapies for patients nationwide.
