New saber-toothed predator from Argentina found
Paleontologists in Argentina have examined fossil fragments discovered in 2014 that initially baffled researchers. The remains belong to a large saber-toothed predator. This discovery suggests that this specific lineage survived much longer than previously believed, bridging a significant gap in our understanding of prehistoric South American fauna.
