Yoram Cohen: Palestinian Authority Should Govern Gaza
Yoram Cohen, the former head of the Shin Bet and a candidate for the 'Yashar' party led by Gadi Eizenkot, has publicly supported the inclusion of the Palestinian Authority in the future administration of the Gaza Strip. Cohen argues that any entity that does not view Israel as an enemy should be considered for a governing role in the region. Despite acknowledging the Palestinian Authority's significant failures and loss of control in both the West Bank and Gaza, Cohen maintains that they remain a superior security and political option compared to external actors like Qatar or Turkey. He believes that, from a strategic perspective, they are the most viable alternative for managing the territory.
