Report Exposes Underage Marriages and Concealment in Yavniel
An inter-ministerial report commissioned by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs has unveiled alarming findings regarding underage marriages within the Breslov Hasidic community in Yavniel, Israel. The investigation revealed that 29 births to underage mothers occurred over a three-year period. The findings detail sophisticated concealment tactics, including disguising wedding ceremonies as engagement parties and registering underage mothers as single parents to bypass state detection. The committee issued recommendations to strengthen law enforcement, enhance welfare interventions, and protect minor victims.
