PTSD Veteran Sentenced After Violent Clash with Ben-Gvir's Security
Meir Yahia Kadush, a 60% disabled combat veteran recognized by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, was convicted of assaulting a public servant following a violent incident in Kiryat Arba nearly four years ago. The confrontation began when an overly aggressive hug directed at then-MK Itamar Ben-Gvir escalated into verbal abuse, physical violence, and the choking of a security guard with a rifle strap. Despite the prosecution's request for a prison sentence served through community service, the judge took Kadush's severe psychological condition into account. The court ultimately sentenced him to two months of suspended imprisonment and ordered him to pay 1,000 NIS in compensation to the assaulted guard.
