In 2024, a collaborative initiative at the University of Pennsylvania introduced an innovative tool designed to help people examine how different news outlets cover the same events. The Media Bias Detector applies artificial intelligence to analyze news coverage objectively. Developed by Penn's Computational Social Science Lab, the tool evaluates articles based on tone, topic, political leaning, and the individuals and facts mentioned, aiding voters and news consumers in navigating information.
