Kitao Sakurai’s cinematic adaptation of the iconic fighting game begins with a promising blend of style, energy, and charm. Featuring animated sequences and an eclectic cast, the first half successfully captures the playful spirit of its source material while setting up a martial arts tournament. However, the production completely unravels as it progresses. The narrative fractures under confusing plot threads, awkward comedic timing, and poorly integrated action sequences, ultimately failing to deliver a coherent conclusion or a satisfying finale for its characters.
