Orange haze blankets Indonesia's Kalimantan region
Thick orange smog has descended upon Palangka Raya and surrounding areas in Indonesia's Kalimantan region due to ongoing wildfires. Witnesses shared striking footage of the intense haze covering towns, as air pollution indexes soared far beyond hazardous levels. Authorities report that the ISPU air pollution index exceeded 1,200, which is four times the standard hazardous threshold. The toxic smog is affecting millions not only in Indonesia but also in neighboring Singapore and Malaysia.
