E Ink has unveiled the latest evolution of its color e-paper technology, introducing significant performance bumps over the previous generation. The new panels aim to resolve longstanding issues tied to color depth, contrast, and text clarity that plagued earlier devices. While maintaining the filter-based approach that ensures quick responsiveness rather than slow pigment-shifting alternatives, the updated display doubles the color gamut and improves text readability. Initial hardware adoption is rolling out soon in Asian markets via specialized note-taking devices.
