Severe Floods Strike Spain: Airport Flooded and Flights Grounded
Storm Adam has unleashed severe flooding across parts of Spain, turning roads into rushing rivers and causing major infrastructure disruptions. In Ibiza, airport terminals were inundated with water, forcing cancellations and flight diversions. Tragically, a woman lost her life near Barcelona after being swept away by floodwaters while trying to cross a swollen river with her family. Authorities have issued maximum weather warnings, with meteorological services forecasting hundreds of additional millimeters of rainfall. Residents in vulnerable regions, including Valencia, have received emergency mobile alerts urging them to shelter in place as the nation braces for potentially catastrophic conditions reminiscent of previous deadly deluges.
