Netanyahu Criticizes Arrests of Ultra-Orthodox Draft Evaders
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed strong opposition to ongoing arrest operations targeting Ultra-Orthodox draft evaders. Speaking in a radio interview, Netanyahu stated that such enforcement measures are unacceptable and undermine efforts to achieve voluntary military enlistment. While reaffirming his high regard for Torah study, the Prime Minister emphasized that Haredi men who are not actively studying in yeshivas should fulfill their military service obligation.
