Ending corridor care in hospitals for children a priority

Health Secretary Yvette Cooper has announced that ending hospital corridor care for children is a top priority for the NHS in England. A new £140m investment package has also been revealed to bolster the urgent care system ahead of a difficult winter. The announcement follows the tragic case of two-year-old Finlay Roberts, who died in an A&E corridor in 2024. Cooper issued an apology to the family and stated that new standards will track corridor care by age for the first time.
