Epic Games is Developing Fortnite Support for Linux
Epic Games has announced plans to bring its popular title, Fortnite, to the Linux platform. The company is currently working on a significant overhaul of its Easy Anti-Cheat software, specifically creating a new version dubbed EAC Linux v2, to address long-standing security concerns regarding kernel-level cheating on diverse Linux distributions. While a specific release date remains unconfirmed, Epic is collaborating with distribution maintainers to ensure the security requirements are met. The company is also exploring potential compatibility with Valve’s SteamOS, although there are currently no plans to distribute the game through the Steam store or provide immediate support for the Steam Deck.
