Yehuda Eliyahu Approves Legalization of Negev Community Ezuz
Shortly after the High Court of Justice confirmed his continued tenure, Israel Land Authority acting director Yehuda Eliyahu authorized the official planning regularization for the remote southern community of Ezuz, located near the Egyptian border. Established initially in the early 1980s, the village has operated for decades without formal status while housing eighteen families. The approved master plan provides legal backing for existing residences and distinctive local tourism ventures, including cafes, workshops, and galleries. Additionally, authorities plan to establish an archaeological park in collaboration with the Israel Antiquities Authority to bolster regional development and tourism potential in the Negev.
