Druze Protesters Block Route 6 Over Jaffa Stabbing Incident
Around one hundred Druze demonstrators blocked a major Israeli highway, Route 6, by burning tires near the Elyakim Interchange. The protest caused massive traffic congestion lasting for about an hour, impacting thousands of commuters heading south and slowing northern traffic due to onlookers. The demonstration was sparked by a violent incident in Jaffa over the weekend, where an 18-year-old was stabbed and moderately injured during a brawl at a local club. Police forces responded swiftly, managing traffic flow and arresting three suspects in connection with the stabbing, with two having their remand extended.
