Dozen Chabad Yeshiva Students Detained at Ben Gurion Airport
Dozens of Chabad yeshiva students returning from a traditional year of study at Chabad headquarters in New York were detained by Military Police upon landing at Ben Gurion Airport. The arrests highlight growing tension between Israeli military authorities and the Ultra-Orthodox community over draft exemptions. The students now face disciplinary proceedings within the military justice system. This incident comes amidst shifting government policies and court rulings regarding the military draft status of yeshiva scholars in Israel.
