Largest 2D map of the universe reveals new gravitational lenses
An international team of scientists has used data from the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys alongside artificial intelligence to discover 70 new gravitational lenses. These rare cosmic alignments function as natural magnifying glasses in space. The newly discovered lenses expand one of the largest existing collections of confirmed lenses.
