College tries to cancel Flock contract, but the company refuses
In April 2025, Elgin Community College installed Flock safety cameras to improve campus security. However, by September, concerns emerged regarding data sharing with federal agencies and inadequate security. When the college attempted to terminate the contract, Flock refused to remove the equipment. Even after the school covered the cameras, the company allegedly uncovered them without authorization.
