Disney Agrees to Absorb Most of Character.AI Workforce
Following the recent bankruptcy filing of the interactive chatbot venture Character.AI, media giant Disney has stepped forward with an agreement to offer positions to a large portion of the startup's personnel. Court documents indicate that Disney plans to extend job opportunities to at least sixty team members, backed by a substantial annual payroll. While the arrangement provides a secure transition for the affected technologists, it currently stands as a preliminary stalking horse bid, meaning competing firms still have an opportunity to present superior proposals before final approval.
