Israel Elections: Judge Solberg Orders Likud to Remove Billboards
With elections just four days away, the head of Israel's Central Election Committee, Justice Noam Solberg, has ordered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party to take down controversial billboards across the country. The directive follows an urgent petition filed by the Yashar party, which argued that the campaign advertisements were misleading to voters. The disputed billboards featured portraits of Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot and other faction heads alongside Arab MKs Mansour Abbas and Ahmad Tibi. Justice Solberg ruled that these displays risked confusing the electorate regarding potential political alliances and failed to properly identify the sponsor in non-Arabic-speaking areas.
