Celtic Challenge introduces home final incentive
The 2026-27 Celtic Challenge rugby competition is introducing a new format change to increase competitive stakes. Instead of utilizing a neutral venue, the final match will now be hosted by the finalist with the higher seeding from the regular season. This cross-border tournament, which features teams from Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, kicks off in early December. By rewarding top-performing teams with home-field advantage in the championship game, organizers hope to heighten the significance of every fixture throughout the season.
