Sonay Kartal shines at Wuhan Open as Aryna Sabalenka exits
British tennis player Sonay Kartal has secured a significant victory at the Wuhan Open, defeating ninth seed Belinda Bencic in straight sets. This win marks a positive step in Kartal's return to form following a lengthy injury layoff that sidelined her for much of the season. Meanwhile, top seed Aryna Sabalenka faced a surprising early elimination after losing to American Ann Li. Despite a valiant effort to save multiple match points, the Belarusian star succumbed to defeat, continuing a difficult trend of failing to close out matches from advantageous positions.
