Sony Drops Promised Android 17 Update for Xperia 10 VI
Sony has announced that the Xperia 10 VI smartphone will no longer receive the anticipated Android 17 upgrade, reversing its original commitment made at launch. Internal technical evaluations revealed storage configuration constraints that prevent an optimal software experience for users. Despite dropping the major operating system upgrade, the manufacturer confirmed that security patches will continue for four years, lasting through June 2028. Other device models remain unaffected by this storage-related decision.
